Abstract :
The thru-x-y (Txy) family of calibration techniques has been applied to the measurement of the microwave-modulation response of optical components using the most generalized form of available algorithms. An automated bilateral optical test set has been developed for the purpose. A wide variety of results demonstrating the good performance of the techniques applied to optical components are presented. The measured results are compared to find the most suitable calibration technique in terms of accuracy. This work represents the first comprehensive comparison of all the Txy family of calibration techniques in the optical domain
