A method to electronically rotate a set of two-dimensional vectors

The authors describe a method and its circuit implementation for performing the rotation of a set of two-dimensional (2-D) vectors, an operation useful in applications of CRT or X-Y recorders. The vector (V_x,V_y) is turned through an angle θ linearly related to control voltage V_θ, according to the equation, θ=π×V_θ/V_θ. The scale factor is 18°/V, and a maximum rotation of ±180° is obtained for V_θ=V_θ=±10 V.
