Abstract :
The development of a high-frequency linear network parameters measurement branch in the People´s Republic of China is briefly summarized in this paper. The slow development in an isolated state from the mid-60´s to the mid-70´s is recollected. The relativey rapid progress since the late 1970´s is described with references given. Recent advances, including up-to-date hardware as well as theoretical work, are presented to cover the current main achievements. Having worked in this branch and been closely contacted with certain other measurement branches for 20 years, the author hopes, even believes, this brief survey could be a sample image of the development of the whole instrumentation and measurement field in this country.
