Abstract :
In the preceding "Retrospectroscope" column, I dealt with the anticoagulants\´ historical development as an essential transfusion component. This installment, instead, delves into the technology associated with the medical act of transferring blood from one subject to another\´s circulatory system. Hence, this paper speaks of the engineering of transfusion.
