Abstract :
THIS special issue contains papers which were presented at the 1983 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS´83) held in San Francisco, August 31 through September 2, 1983. Several different aspects of remote sensing are covered — active and passive, microwave through visible, acoustic, platforms in space and on Earth, theoretical, experimental, and applications. The diversity results in a rather heterogeneous collection, but also one which will provide the diligent reader with an excellent coverage of much of contemporary remote sensing.
