1983 GRS-S awards

AT THE GRS-S Awards Luncheon held during the 1983 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS ´83), GRS-S President Dr. Keith R. Carver presented the following GRS Society Awards: Distinguished Achievement Award — Dr. Fawwaz T. K. Ulaby K. Tomiyasu, Chairman. GRS-S Awards Committee, is with the General Electric Company. Valley Forge Space Center. Philadelphia, PA 19101. Dr. Ulaby received the University of Kansas Gould Award for distinguished service to higher education in 1973, the Eta Kappa Nu MacDonald Award for an outstanding Electrical Engineering professor in the U.S. in 1975, and the University of Kansas Chancellor´s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1980. He is a Former President of the Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRS-S), and is currently serving as Chairman of its Technical Activities Committee. He was awarded the Society´s Outstanding Service Award in 1982.
