Abstract :
John Lions was born 19 January 1937 in Sydney, Australia, and died 5 December 1998 (also in Sydney) from a degenerative neurological condition. Lions was often called "the father of Unix in Australia." Lions was the founding president of the Australian Unix Users Group (AUVG) from 1984 to 1986.
