Abstract :
Propagation of a monochromatic wave in a non-planar anisotropic Perfectly Matched Layer (PML) of finite thickness is handled as a boundary value problem, and a general solution for the field is obtained. A suitable choice of material parameters minimizing reflection leads to a new nonplanar PML whose small reflection coefficient is of the same order of magnitude as the finite element approximation error
