EE at work: Discovering the small company: Mark Davis´ first job seemed like a faltering step, but redirection led him to surprising discoveries about himself and his job preferences

Mark Davis, at 22, was not really sure what he wanted to do when he graduated with a BSEE from the University of Utah in December 1980. He needed a job close by since his wife, Amy, was not graduating until May, and he knew he wanted a job that would give him experience supervising people. A job offer by U.S. Steel seemed to fit these criteria, but ultimately was not satisfying. Later in a small family business, which allowed him to be innovative and creative, Mark made some surprising discoveries about his job likes and dislikes and came full circle.
