The word processing game: “Engineering” the paper chase: Engineering students should learn the skills associated with word processing (WP) in order to use WP in their school work, and later in their careers

Most engineering work involves paperwork, and whether one is producing a report, a review, an article, a letter, a proposal, or whatever, content/quality and quality preparation is essential. In preword processing days, the author prepared the content/quality, and the typist provided the quality preparation. Indeed, very few engineers could type sufficiently well to prepare an error-free, attractive document. Engineers were hired to be creative in a different function, yet were responsible for communicating their ideas to others in such a way that they could be presented on paper.
