Abstract :
Statistical analysis performed on two types of fibres shows that fibres exposed to 193 nm irradiation exhibit minimal tensile strength reduction compared to fibres exposed to 248 nm irradiation. This has important implications for the application of photoinduced fibre gratings as strain sensors
