Abstract :
In the paper the problem of threshold performance improvement of direction of arrival estimation using estimator bank approach is considered. The weighted unitary Root-MUSIC estimator combined with conventional beamformer is used to form estimator bank. The proposed approach has a reduced computational complexity in comparison with conventional estimator bank because it is based on the eigendecomposition of real-valued covariance matrix. Simulation results show that the proposed implementation of estimator bank outperforms conventional unitary estimator bank.
