  • Abstract
The collection of papers by leading world experts to be presented at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference 2001 (ISSCC) 5–7 February 2001 at the San Francisco Marriott provides an extensive overview of achievements in the Internet Age (see Table 1). The Internet Age is a direct result of the tremendous advances in solid-state circuits enjoyed over the last three decades. Its impact is revolutionary in terms of cost-effective delivery of new roducts and services. The convergence of wireless and wireline digital communications with advanced computing technologies enables new System On A Chip concepts, apparently limited only by the imagination of the designers. The three plenary speakers support this theme:
