2000 VLSI circuits symposium retrospective

The 2000 VLSI Circuits Symposium was held 15–17 June 2000 in Honolulu, Hawaii, in concert with the VLSI Technology Symposium. This close association provided an international forum for those in technology and circuit/system design to interact. A highlight of both symposia was the Joint Rump Session. On the threshold of the twenty-first century, this year the session took a look into the future in a panel discussion, Circuit and System Technology in the Year 2010. Always heavily attended, this session saw noted panelists from a number of disciplines, including design, process, and wafer production, discussing their vision of the systems that would be built in the coming decade and the processes and advances necessary to realize them.
