Abstract
A burst reservation multiple access (BRMA) scheme is presented, suited to carrying ON-OFF type data traffic via satellite. Its performance is compared with the combined free/demand assignment multiple access (CFDAMA) scheme and it is shown that the BRMA protocol can provide superior delay/utilisation performance of satellite channels
