Abstract :
In this article, it is shown that a dibenzyl disulfide concentration greater than 10 mg·kg-1 in a nonpassivated oil makes the oil potentially corrosive, when tested in accordance with IEC 62535. The effect of Irgamet 39 on the oxidation stability of oil, and the thermal degradation of dibenzyl disulfide, including the role played by copper, are also discussed in the article.
