Abstract :
An all-optical Manchester decoder is proposed and experimentally demonstrated utilising cross-gain modulation in a semiconductor optical amplifier and tunable time delay in an optical delay line. The proposed scheme is switchable between inverted decoding and non-inverted decoding for the input Manchester encoded signal at 10 Gbit/s application.
