Abstract
We consider the problem of wide-band direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation of hydroacoustic signals from marine vessels, which contain both random and sinusoidal components. We generalize the existing narrow-band maximum likelihood estimator to the wide-band case for DOA estimation of such signals. Our analytical comparison and numerical example show that the derived estimator provides better performance than the typical stochastic estimator.
