Abstract
X pinches made from various metal wires were exploded in vacuum by a fast 3.2 kJ capacitor bank, charged to 30 kV. X rays were observed to be emitted from a point source (2 mm×0.5 mm). Energy of these X rays extended till 200 keV. X pinches of palladium deuteride wires were observed to emit ≈5×104 neutrons per discharge
