Abstract :
The human interface strongly affects the perceived value of the entire instrument. As far as the user is concerned, perception is reality. The human interface is arguably the most difficult and subjective part of an instrument design. Yet, with diligence one can understand the issues surrounding user interfaces. With that knowledge, one can build good interfaces and ultimately, successful products. Some useful guidelines are presented
