Abstract :
Amplification over 10 km of erbium-doped fibre is reported, exhibiting a signal power excursion of less than 0.2 dB along the entire fibre length. Lossless transmission at 1.536 mu m was achieved with only 11.5 mW of launched pump power at 1.485 mu m.
