The challenge to realise convergence of fixed and mobile communications

Convergence of the fixed and mobile communication services (fixed and mobile convergence, or FMC) was the discussion subject for a panel session at the 6th IEE Conference on Telecommunications. Three invited speakers presented views from the perspectives of a fixed operator, a mobile operator and the business environment. This paper draws on the material presented and includes additional information to provide an updated overview of FMC.
