Abstract :
The first data transmission over a distributed erbium-doped fibre amplifier is reported. A +10 dBm input signal, intensity modulated at 5 Gbit/s has been transmitted without loss or distortion over a 10 km fibre, pumped with a total of 50 mW pump power at 1485 nm.
