Abstract :
The paper deals with a formulation of the charge simulation method (CSM), using surface charges in three-dimensional open-boundary and single-dielectric problems. The singularities of the integral functions are treated by a suitable change of variables, which gains a better numerical accuracy. The time-saving possibilities and the increase in accuracy of the proposed formulation are shown in a case of practical interest, where the results are compared to those obtained by means of the traditional CSM formulation with discrete charges and by means of finite element computer codes
