Abstract :
Magnetostrictive materials are characterized by a strong coupling between magnetic and mechanical phenomena. The modelling of magnetostrictive thin films using the finite element method is investigated, and two strong coupling formulations are proposed. They allow to take into account the material´s nonlinearity as well as the magneto mechanical coupling. The first one is using the H(B,σ) and σ(ε,H) characteristics in order to achieve the coupling, the second one directly uses the λ(H) curves and enables an experimental validation,
