Abstract
This paper investigates the average bit error rate performance of a direct sequence code division multiple access system operating over a multipath Rician fading channel (which models indoor radio propagation in factories). We consider both phase-shift-keying modulation with coherent demodulation and differential phase-shift-keying modulation with noncoherent demodulation. Predetection multipath diversity (equal gain combining) is considered for improving the BER performance
