  • Abstract
The four-year engineering undergraduate degree is becoming obsolete. The amount of technical material that students need to learn is ever increasing. The growing need to specialize early in the program is contradicted by the push to include more liberal arts and humanities in the curricula. In the process of trying to cram all of it into a four-year program, important labwork and production related courses are often minimal or sacrificed entirely.
