Abstract
Aspects of preventive and predictive maintenance for a hydrogenerator stator winding insulation system are discussed in this article. A specific case study on a 31 MVA hydrogenerator is presented. The new method had to provide the staff with a precise and timely assessment of the state of the insulation without prolonged outages and substantial manpower allocations.
