Abstract
Various aspects of engineering management are examined in the context of selecting it as a career goal. The changes in management are noted, and the question of why so many engineering managers fail is explored. Advice is given for advancing into management, corporate training for technical managers is discussed, and some tips for future engineering managers are provided.
