Scanning the issues

An engineering challenge. With one of the great “natural resources” of the United States — engineering manpower — on the way toward virtual decimation, one wonders just how long the present administration will wait before it declares a “national disaster” and comes to the aid of those who, more than anyone else, have brought the country to its present position of affluence and technological prominence.
