Abstract :
A high quality Nb-based tunnel junction with a dimension of 200 /spl mu/m/spl times/200 /spl mu/m was tested by irradiating with X-rays. Two kinds of stable operation modes were observed by applying a magnetic field with different ramping speeds. The junction exhibited a good response to X-rays of 5.9 keV, and FWHM (full width at half maximum) of 93 eV was obtained.
