Abstract
Based on time domain simulation, a calculation method for single machine acceleration area and deceleration area is proposed. The single machine equal area criterion (SMEAC) for assessing multimachine system stability is presented. Compared with traditional time domain simulation, the method can reduce calculation time, providing more stability information. Results for different networks obtained using SMEAC are exactly the same as those obtained using time domain simulation (TDS).
