Abstract
A voice-controlled human-computer interface has been designed that enables severely handicapped individuals to operate a computer. This system consists of six main blocks: the keyboard and the mouse layouts; the D6106 speech recogniser; the headset incorporated with a microphone and two mercury switches; the keyboard circuit and the mouse circuits; the mouse control circuit; and the microcontroller. A prototype system has been built and tested.
