Abstract :
With an oriental name and claiming to be the ´original lean system´, the Japanese philosophy and practice of Kaizen could at first glance be taken to be an obscure ascetic religion. Actually a series of totally practical management tools and systems specifically and individually designed for use in the manufacturing industries, Kaizen is about as hard-headed as they come, aimed pragmatically at profit.
