The Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) has survived an extensive reorganization of the Presidential staff, but with about one third of its job positions eliminated and several of its major functions assigned elsewhere. The shifts, according to a White House announcement, are designed to provide a model of lean staffing for the rest of the Government and to make the White House staff more responsive to Presidential needs.
