Abstract :
Our focus is on the peripheral nervous system. The flow ofinformation to and from the various control centers is carried by a number of nerve trunks. Each of these trunks may contain hundreds and even thousands of fibers. We describe a method based on the Z-transform for deriving the density distribution of these fibers from compound action potential waves (CAPs). CAPs and the Z-transform are reviewed, and Z-transform and integration testing methods performed on a right hand ulnar nerve are discussed and compared
