Abstract :
The political struggle over the future of the Clinch River Fast Breeder Reactor Project has shown signs of intensifying with Edison Electric Institute president W. Donham Crawford´s recent urging of the U.S. Congress to override Preident Carter´s veto of the bill authorizing the project. The veto, according to Mr. Crawford, would foreclose the development of that source of energy in the United States as an option for the latter part of this century or the beginning of the next one.
