Abstract
The radial magnetometric demagnetizing factor Nmr of a disk is calculated from the corresponding axial factor Nma as a function of the ratio of thickness to diameter t/d and the susceptibility of material χ by the formula Nma(t/d, χ= χ*) +2Nmr[t/d, χ=-χ*/(l +χ*)] =1+δ(t/d, χ*). This formula is derived from the magnetostatic laws with a correction (|δ|≪1) based on known values of Nma and Nmr for χ*=∞. The accuracy of the Nmr thus obtained is estimated to be better than 1%, which satisfies most practical needs
