Abstract :
This special issue on Speaker and Language Recognition is intended for a wide audience that includes the experienced researcher, product development engineer and graduate student. Speaker and language recognition technologies have many very important practical applications. Speaker recognition [1] is an example of a biometric system that is applicable to border and immigration control, controlled access to transportation systems, restricted access to facilities and information systems, cybersecurity, crime investigations and forensic analysis as used by commercial, government and law enforcement agencies.
