Abstract :
LAST MONTH??s earthquake in Japan was first and foremost a human tragedy on an unimagineable scale: many thousands of lives lost, many more bereaved of close relatives and thousands more still made homeless and dispossesed. The effects of such a vast event will be felt by individuals every day for months and years to come in Japan and far beyond.
