Abstract :
The public perception of nuclear energy has taken a battering in the wake of the Fukushima nuclear accident. It had been a painfully sluggish process, but since the nightmare scenario of a complete meltdown of a nuclear plant 25 years ago at Chernobyl, the public had, inch by inch, been creeping towards a grudging acceptance of a nuclear future.
