  • Abstract
"There are a lot of unqualified managers out there," says Ruth Spellman, before stating the eye-opening statistic that threequarters of professional managers in the UK today have no management qualifications at all. Spellman is chief executive of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) in London and we??re sitting in her office in Savoy Court overlooking the Strand. Savoy Court is the only road in the country where you must drive on the right-hand side, a quirk that literally goes against the flow.
