Abstract
As discussed by Walker and Cantoni (see ibid., vol.46, no.1, p.82-90, 1998), B-ISDN continuous bit-rate services using the synchronous residual time stamp method may be suspected to suffer from excessive jitter. However, this is not true even if a high-frequency offset shifts the stuff ratio to an unfavorable stuff ratio causing high-jitter amplitude. But there is another, still open, synchronization issue.
