  • Abstract
    A new deformed shape recognition method based on hidden Markov models (HMMs), which is very resistant against transformations and non-rigid deformations, is presented. Since shape features are not referred to an absolute point, the method is also resistant to severe shape distortions. The method has been successfully tested using different databases
