Abstract
The problem of transmission control protocol (TCP) traffic with random early detection (RED) is addressed. With the formulation of stochastic differential equation (SDE), an explicit expression for the relation between RED parameters and network parameters is given, which may help set RED parameters for good network performance and the desired average queue level. The result is verified by simulation experiments using ns-2
