  • Abstract
    Loss characteristics of long-period fibre gratings with constant pitch can be made to compensate for a variety of EDFA gain characteristics. Simply by incorporating blank regions within a fixed overall length of grating during its fabrication, the heights of subsidiary maxima and minima can be set at required values
