Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a new RFID reader pad using free access transmission line. Previously, the authors proposed the diamond shaped structure using free access transmission line as RFID reader pad and circularly polarized antenna to obtain a stable coupling in any antenna direction. However, this pad does not provide stable coupling with other kinds of antenna. To overcome disadvantage, we propose a square shaped crossed transmission line. This paper presents a prototype reader pad and its characteristics and presents stable coupling characteristics.
