Abstract :
Series-connected, two- and three-stage segmented 1.55 μm ridge lasers have been fabricated and are shown to exceed the differential efficiency of comparable control lasers by factors of 1.75 and 2.35. Threshold currents are 1.52 and 2.44 times lower, respectively
