  • Abstract
    The IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. As this is an important milestone for the Society, it is time to review how the Society and technologies have evolved over the last 60 years. With this in mind, several well-known authors have prepared review articles for the next special issue of the magazine. I hope you enjoy reading them since they are a deep review of what is state of the art of the main technologies in the IES´s field of interest.
