Abstract :
Arrays of nanotubes or nanowires might be quite promising for auto-emission cathode applications while they possess high nanotube/nanowire density and a certain degree of ordering. In this work we studied the emission properties of TiO2 nanotube arrays obtained by electrochemical anodization. The nanotube arrays were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy and optical spectroscopy. Our results hint on a strong correlation between emission properties and geometry (tube density, tube diameter, roughness) of unfilled titania nanotubes.
